Curb appeal. The good, the bad, and the oh so ugly. As a real estate agent, as I am walking up to a house, whether it be for a listing appointment or with buyers, I am focused on the curb appeal. Why? Well, for one, it says alot about the home. Is it inviting? Is it loved? Is it maintained? Yes, there have been a few rare times where the outside was so overgrown with no personality and the inside was stunning! But that is not always the case. . An un kept front yard with no personality is uninviting and leaves buyers with a bad first impression of your home. If you are going to put your house up for sale, Start by a good cleaning of the entrance way. Get rid of dirt and cobwebs . Clean the front door and windows. If the front door needs painting, get out the paint brush. Do a weed clean out, Spread some new mulch or rocks, Plant some new flowers or get some pretty potted plants. A pretty welcome mat is always a nice touch. If you have a front porch, put out a chair and small table. It is all about staging the home and first impressions count. Help your buyers envision themselves living there. Buyers are looking for move in ready. They dont want to put garneding and landscaping on their to do list.
